Policy Argument

For this assignment, you’ll have an opportunity to select from a limited set of genres (print- and web-based) with which to frame your own well-researched policy argument, drawing content from an issue you have identified early in the semester, and giving it a unique form. You’ll likely be putting into practice concepts by Handa, Jones, Kaufer, and Killingsworth, who ask us to consider not only ways of rendering “the good argument” on emotionally charged topics, but also what it means to appeal to time or place, arguing with velocity rather than force. You’ll be asked to reflect on the genre and design choices you make, especially in light of the genres we read.
